Light and bright, in beautiful gardens, with views to the fields beyond, and informal tracks leading down to tranquil banks of the River Deben, this homely barn conversion has a relaxed and simple appeal. Enter the barn, into the sitting room with sofa, and table and chairs. A staircase leads up the mezzanine level, where the double bed, chest of drawers and hanging rail are. (Guests who are tall, will need to take care due to the alcoved ceiling)
Converted from a barn where pigs once dwelled, The Empress of Blandings, takes it's name from the fictional pig in the series of Blandings Castle novels and stories by P G Wodehouse.

A peaceful and tranquil property to enjoy beautiful rural Suffolk
Nearest pub: The Cretingham Bell 0.8miles (2 minute drive, or a 20 minute walk) The Brandeston Queen 1.2 miles
- Owners are very happy for babies, but not toddlers due to proximity to the river.
There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep, and should they be required, a good selection of charming and characterful country pubs to keep you hydrated along the way.
This part of Suffolk also seems to be particularly popular with cyclists, as there is relatively little traffic passing through these quiet country lanes. (Remember your helmet, lights and reflective clothing!)
The owners would be very happy to give guests local knowledge on the best walks around the area, places to visit, pubs and restaurants to try etc. Should the conversation get on to travel, or wine, then you may have to curtail your time to explore Suffolk - or perhaps add an extra night!
The properties in this rural lane have water supplied by a well (no buckets required!). There is no wifi, and mobile phone signal can be patchy!
